Pregnancy and lactation
In the 40 weeks of gestation that lead from conception to the birth of the child several things happen.
Some very obvious, such as physical changes of the woman’s body, others more hidden, such as the growth of the fetus.
The duration of pregnancy is calculated in weeks, starting from the date of the last menstruation, and it is therefore important to know this date with certainty.
If the delivery takes place between 37 and 41 weeks we will have a pregnancy “term”; “preterm” (or premature delivery) in case of delivery before 37 weeks; “protracted” if the delivery takes place at 42 weeks or later.
For all health problems, even the most trivial ones, during pregnancy it is always good to refer to your gynecologist before taking any medication.
